How To Use a Female Condom

Step 1 - Open the Female Condom package carefully; tear at the notch on the top right of the package. Do not use scissors or a knife to open.

Step 2 - The outer ring of the female condom covers the area around the opening of the vagina. The inner sponge is used for insertion and to help hold the sheath in place during intercourse.

Step 3 - While holding the sheath at the closed end, grasp the sponge and squeeze it with the thumb and second finger so it becomes long and narrow.

Step 4 - Choose a position that is comfortable for insertion; squat, raise one leg, sit or lie down. Gently insert the inner sponge into the vagina.

Step 5 - Place, the index finger on the inside of the condom, and push the inner sponge up as far as it will go. Be sure the sheath is not twisted. The outer ring should remain on the outside of the vagina.

Step 6 - The female condom is now in place and ready to use.

Step 7 - Be sure that your partner's penis is not entering from the sides, between the sheath and the vagina wall.

Step 8 - Gently guide your partner's penis into the sheath's opening with your hand to make sure that it enters properly.

Step 9 - To remove the female condom, after the use, twist the outer ring and gently pull the condom out.

Step 10 - Wrap the condom in the package or in tissue, and throw it in the garbage. Do not put it into the toilet.

Tips For Safer Use Of Female Condom

1. Check the expiry date of the condom.
2. Tear downwards as marked on the package.
3. Spread lubrication to the condom.
4. Grab the inner ring of the condom with one hand and squeeze the inner ring together. (Alternatively, you can slightly twist the inner ring to form a figure of eight).
5. With one hand separate the outer lips of the vagina and push the inner ring into the vagina as far as possible with the other hand. Insert index or middle finger into the female condom.
6. The outer ring including about an inch of the condom should remain outside of the body. The slack will decrease when the penis enters the vagina but the outer ring needs to remain outside the body, protecting the external genitalia.

How To Dispose Of Female Condom After Use?

1. Hold and twist the outer ring of the Female Condom to seal the condom and prevent the semen to come out.
2. While holding the twisted part pull the Female Condom out of the vagina and wrap it in tissue.
3. Dispose of the Female Condom in the waste container.

Cautions

1. FOR SINGLE USE ONLY
2. Store in a cool dry place away from heat and direct sunlight.
3. Female Condoms are very easy to use. But may need practice for insertion.
4. Trim the nail of the finger used for insertion of the female condoms to avoid tear of the condom while insertion.
5. Female Condoms contains Natural Rubber Latex which may cause an allergic reaction.
6. Do not use Female Condoms with oil-based lubricants. If necessary use water-based lubricants.
7. Do not use Male and Female Condoms together.
8. Do not use the condom after the expiry date indicated on the package.
9. Any use of Cupid Female Condoms for other than vaginal intercourse may increase the potential of damage to the condom.
10. Do not put the used Female Condom into the toilet. Wrap the condom in the package and throw it in the garbage.
